I have temporary custody of my neice and 2 nephews. Rescued by us, from a home that had no electricity, hot water, gas, or a parent that had mental stability. If not for us, t hey would be in foster care likely separated. They have needed each other as much as needing us through this whole process. It isn't easy and not looking for it to be easy. But, they deserve love and safety like any other child. I'm happy we are able to provide a loving safe home

I have custody of 4 grandchildren. 3 are from my son and his wife and Lane, 8 years, is from my stepson’s ex wife. I am constantly saying to Lane. Blood makes you related. Love and a relationship makes you family. We are fight hard to keep Lane and the other 3 , Bradley 4 years, Jocelyn 3 years and Aurora 3 years, we are adopting. Parents are doing what is best for the kids. They all have my husband, Pawpaw, wrapped around their fingers

I have been doing some form of Kinship care...from taking care of nieces and nephews to caring for my grandchildren. It is a very hard journey but I would not have it any other way.
